Editorial Policy
SoftwareBiz publishes articles under Insights & Resources for the people who buy and run business systems: company owners, finance and operations heads, IT managers and travel agency principals. Each article covers a rule, a deadline, a vendor change or a market development that affects the systems a company runs, and says what to do about it. The articles are not paid for by any vendor, regulator or client, and SoftwareBiz takes no payment for mentioning any organisation or product in them.
Who Writes Them
The articles are written and signed by Mohsin Amer Riaz, Founder & Chief Executive of SoftwareBiz, with input from the practice that delivers the service concerned: Digital Engineering, Cloud & DevOps, Data & AI and Business Process Outsourcing, and the SBConnects team for travel technology. Where another member of the team writes an article, that person is named on it. The leadership team is listed on the company page.
How an Article Is Researched
Each article starts from primary sources: the regulator, the vendor or the law concerned, then reporting by established news organisations. Every fact carries its date, and every source is listed at the end of the article with a link. The facts are stated in our own words; no source's wording is reproduced. Figures, prices and deadlines are taken from the publisher's own page, and where a figure comes from a third party, such as a messaging provider's rate card, the article says so.
An article does not invent figures, clients, case studies or certifications, and does not predict decisions by regulators, vendors or governments. A development reported by a single outlet is not published until it is confirmed. Where an article names a SoftwareBiz service that solves the problem described, it does so openly, with a link to that service, so the reader knows what is being offered.
Dates and Updates
Every article shows its publication date and, when it has been revised, the date of the last update. A revision that changes a fact, a figure or the advice is recorded on the article with the new date; the original publication date is kept. Articles are not rewritten to match a position that has changed since; where the change matters to the reader, a new article is published and linked.
What the Articles Are Not
The articles are general information to help a company plan. They are not legal, tax or financial advice, and the rules they describe differ by country, sector and contract and can change at short notice. Before a decision that depends on a rule described in an article, confirm the position with the regulator or with professional advice, and with us where it concerns a system we build or run for you.
Corrections
If an article contains an error, tell us through the contact page with the address of the article and the source that contradicts it. A correction is made on the article itself and dated. Where a correction changes the advice, the article says what changed.
